West Burton sits between Retford and Gainsborough in Bassetlaw, and our Retford flats are about 8 miles from the site, a 15-minute drive. The flats are within walking distance of Retford town centre and the train station, close to the A1, with supermarkets, takeaways and pubs on the doorstep.
There's plenty of work around the site. Demolition of the old West Burton A power station is under way, with the site due to be cleared by 2028. STEP Fusion's construction partner, ILIOS, was appointed in March 2026, and early enabling works are now under way ahead of the main build. Book both for up to 6. Flat A is downstairs and Flat B is upstairs in the same building. A crew of 4 or 6 can stay in one block, park in the same place and go out for a meal together, with each person still getting their own bed. It's all on one booking.
Parking for work vans. A wide off-street driveway in front of the house takes two cars or two vans side by side. If you're bringing anything bigger than a van, tell us before you book.
A shop round the corner. There's a well-stocked corner shop just round the corner, handy for breakfast, lunch and anything you've forgotten.
